Come develop the commercial potential of your idea by working with leading investors, entrepreneurs and others in the business and investment community.

UCEAThe three day UC Entrepreneurship Academy is the premiere academic program for commercializing science and engineering innovations. It is a springboard for moving research out of the lab and into the world. 

The academy is taught by venture capitalists, entrepreneurs, university faculty, industry executives and angel investors who serve as mentors and guest speakers, providing participants with the knowledge and networks needed to take the next steps toward moving research out of the lab and into the world.

The academy includes:

  • a three day intensive on exploring the market opportunities surrounding your ideas and your research

  • daily seminars and interactive sessions taught by leading venture capitalists, angel investors, and entrepreneurs

  • the tools to communicate the broader potential of your research

  • a networking dinner with industry sponsors, entrepreneurs, venture capitalists and angel investors,

  • evening mentoring sessions with industry executives and investors

Enrollment and Tuition

  • The academy is open to upperdivision undergrads, graduate students (masters and doctoral), post-docs and faculty in science and engineering.
  • Open to applicants from any university.

Cost

Non-refundable due upon acceptance to UCEA. A majority of the cost is supported by fellowships from our sponsors, as a result the cost for participants is:

  • $150: California in-state university students, postdocs and faculty

  • $500: Non-California graduate students, postdocs, researchers and faculty at a university.

  • Corporate/Entrepreneur Rate: $1500
    If space is available, we will accept applications at an additional rate.

Includes course, materials and dining for the week. Payment due upon acceptance to the program. This does NOT include lodging.

Location

The academy is held in Ballrooms A+ B at the UC Davis Conference Center.

Lodging

Lodging is the responsibility of the participant.

Dining

  • Lunch provided daily
  • Dinner provided Wednesday, Thursday
