James Evans received his BS degree in Biochemistry from the University of California, Davis in 2003. Following a biopharmaceutical internship at Ventria Biosciences in Sacramento, he began pursuing his PhD in Biochemistry and Molecular Biology with a designated emphasis in Biotechnology at Davis.
In 2005 and 2006, James was awarded the Joint Molecular and Cellular Biology / National Institute of Health training grant. His research is focused on utilizing state-of-the-art cryo-electron microscopy to determine the three-dimensional structure of proteins related to cancer and other diseases.
James is also involved in developing and incorporating novel method and technological advancements pertinent to electron microscopy and structural biology. After graduating, he plans on pursuing a career in academia with hopes of starting a biotechnology company in the near future. |
