About Payam Zamani and Reply!

After graduating from the University of California at Davis, Payam Zamani co-founded Autoweb.com in 1994, the first online car buying service.

Over 4 years, Autoweb.com raised $12M from VC’s and grew the company from concept to over $20M in annual revenues. They took the company public on March 23, 1999. The stock was priced at $14, opened at $28 and closed the first day at $40. The company raised over 80M and the stock was the most active on NASDAQ for that day. In 2008, Reply! launched a patent pending platform that is the equivalent of Google Adwords for the CPL (cost per lead) market. They anticipate significant growth in the coming years.

An Evening with Tim Westergren, Pandora
Tim Westergren, Pandora
Thursday, May 10, 2007 , 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm

Launched in late 2005, Pandora's online music service - www.pandora.com - is based on the Music Genome Project, which began in 2000 and is the most thorough analysis of popular music ever undertaken. Each song in this massive collection , which covers Pop, Rock, Jazz, Electronica, Hip Hop, Country, Blues, R&B, and Latin, is analysed by one of over 50 trained musicians and assessed against up to 400 distinct musical attributes (such as melody, harmony, rhythm etc ) to capture the song's unique musical identity. Music lovers need only enter the name of their favorite song or artist and Pandora does the rest, creating a tailored radio station providing a stream of songs that share key musical characteristics. Pandora gives each listener a unique personalised listening experience, full of new musical discovery across the entire music genome. Listeners can create up to 100 of these online radio stations and refine them by providing feedback via the Pandora radio tuner. Additionally, listeners can create profiles, search for other listeners in the Pandora community who have similiar musical tastes, and find stations built by other listeners, using artist and song names as well as genre and mood search terms.
